Right-click, Save Image As… and you get a .webp or .jfif file that half your apps refuse to open and most sites refuse to accept. Image Grabber fixes that. Hover any image, click Save, and you get a real .jpg or .png — converted in your browser, before the file ever touches your disk. WHAT IT DOES • Converts WebP, AVIF and JFIF to JPG or PNG • Picks the right one automatically: PNG when the image has transparency, JPG when it doesn't, so logos never get a black box behind them • Leaves files alone when conversion would only hurt — an existing JPG is never re-encoded, and animated GIFs and WebPs keep their animation • Renames .jfif files to .jpg without touching a single byte of image data • Grabs the full-resolution source, not the thumbnail on screen — it reads srcset, <picture> and lazy-loading attributes to find the largest version AUTOMATIC CREDIT Saved files can be named like this: mid-century-sofa_credit_pinterest_jane.designs.jpg The creator's handle and the post URL are also written inside the file itself, so the credit survives being renamed. On a busy feed it credits the person who posted the specific image you saved, not whoever the page belongs to. Filename patterns are fully configurable — {name} {credit} {author} {platform} {site} {date} {time} {w} {h} — with one-click presets and a live preview. A filename is not a licence. This gives you a reliable record of where an image came from so you can credit properly or ask permission; it does not grant you the right to reuse anyone's work. ALSO HANDLES • Images rendered as CSS backgrounds, where "Save Image As" isn't offered • Canvas elements, read straight from the pixel buffer • Pages that cancel the right-click menu — the hover button doesn't need one, and the native menu is restored. Sites with their own custom menus keep them. PRIVACY No servers, no analytics, no accounts, no tracking. Images are fetched from the page you're already on and converted on your own machine. Nothing is uploaded anywhere. The only thing stored is your settings. No third-party code. Every file in the package is first-party and readable — no bundled libraries, nothing loaded at runtime.
