bingeglot - Learn from the shows you already love
Overview
Learn with Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, Prime Video and HBO Max subtitles and offline dictionaries.
bingeglot puts two subtitle lines on the shows you already watch: the language you are learning, and one you know. Hover any word for its translation, click it for a full dictionary definition, and replay any line from the transcript. WORKS ON • Netflix and YouTube • Disney+, Prime Video and HBO Max (early access) DUAL SUBTITLES • See the language you are learning and your own language together, over the video. • Both lines come from the show's own subtitle tracks, so you read real translations, not machine translation. • Set each language's color and size, and a background that keeps subtitles readable on any scene. CLICK ANY WORD • Hover a word for a quick translation while the show keeps playing. • Click it to pause and open the full dictionary entry. • Press Listen to hear it: natural voices for English (US and UK), Spanish (Latin America and Spain) and Korean, in a woman's or a man's voice, and your browser's voices for every other language. • Korean words also show the roots they are built on, each with its meaning. REPLAY ANY LINE • A transcript docks beside the video and follows along as you watch. • Click a line to hear it again, or scroll back to find one you missed. • A speech timeline under the video shows when the next line is coming. KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS • Space or W: play or pause • A / S / D: previous line, replay this line, next line • R: replay the line, then pause at its end • G: show or hide the transcript OFFLINE DICTIONARIES • Dictionaries for your two languages download once. After that, every lookup happens on your computer, even offline. • 28 subtitle languages: Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Indonesian, Irish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Kurdish, Latin, Lithuanian, Malagasy, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish and Ukrainian. • Korean and Ukrainian dictionaries pair with English. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No account, no sign-up, no ads. • No AI guesswork: definitions come from Wiktionary-based dictionaries. • No tracking or analytics. Your settings and dictionaries stay in your browser. GOOD TO KNOW • The show needs subtitles in the language you are learning. The translation line appears when it also has subtitles in your second language. • YouTube works on regular watch pages with creator or automatic captions. Shorts, live streams and embedded players are not supported. • Prime Video works on primevideo.com and amazon.com.
