Overview

Tap into your SEO and GEO. Instant on-page, AI-readiness and technical analysis. Made in Canada.

MapleTap is a free SEO and GEO audit tool that runs instantly on any page you open, no account, no login, no data sent to a server. It gives marketers, SEO professionals, agencies, and developers a full on-page SEO checker and AI search readiness checker in a single click, covering everything from your meta title and heading structure to whether ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity can actually read and cite your content. THE DASHBOARD: EVERYTHING IMPORTANT ON ONE SCREEN The Dashboard is the first thing you see. It shows the SEO score and the GEO grade side by side, the page type MapleTap detected (article, product, category page, homepage, or local business page) with a confidence level, and the current Core Web Vitals status. Below that it lists the technologies running on the page (CMS, JavaScript framework, analytics, tag managers, CDN, and hosting) each with the specific evidence that identified it rather than a guess, and it surfaces every tracking ID on the page (Google Tag Manager containers, GA4 measurement IDs, Google Ads tags, and the Meta Pixel), flagging duplicates and outdated tag types. SEO SCORE FROM 15 WEIGHTED CHECKS MapleTap gives every page a 0 to 100 SEO score. Fifteen on-page checks feed the score, each weighted by how much it moves search performance. High impact: indexability, canonical tag presence, canonical target, H1 tag, and Largest Contentful Paint. Medium impact: meta title, image alt text coverage, structured data, internal link count, and heading hierarchy. Lower impact: meta description, language attribute, word count, viewport tag, and whether the page is listed in the sitemap. The weighting adapts to page type, so a product page and a blog post are not held to the same expectations. Five further signals (Open Graph tags, Twitter Card tags, character set, robots.txt AI-crawler rules, and sitemap presence) are reported for completeness but kept out of the score. Each check reads pass, warning, or fail, and the breakdown shows the exact point cost of every issue. GOOGLE SERP PREVIEW See exactly how your page will look in a Google search result before you publish. MapleTap renders a live SERP snippet preview with real-time character counters for your title and meta description, so you know the moment either one will get cut off in search results. HEADING STRUCTURE AND CONTENT ANALYSIS The Headings tab shows a full visual tree of every H1 through H6 heading on the page, color coded by level, with automatic detection of skipped heading levels (like jumping from H2 straight to H4), which confuses how Google and AI models understand your content hierarchy. The Readability tab scores your content with the Flesch-Kincaid formula, estimates reading time, and flags copy that is too dense for your audience. IMAGE AND LINK AUDIT The Images tab lists every image on the page with a thumbnail, its natural dimensions, and whether it is missing alt text, one of the most common and easiest to fix SEO mistakes. The Links tab breaks down internal versus external links, flags nofollow attributes, analyzes your top anchor text, and includes a one click tool that visually highlights every nofollow link directly on the live page. Both tabs export to CSV. TECHNICAL SEO AUDIT MapleTap's Technical group covers the checks that separate a page that looks fine from a page that actually performs well in search: Performance: when Google has enough real-world data for the page, MapleTap shows the field Core Web Vitals from the Chrome UX Report, the 28-day 75th-percentile LCP, INP, CLS, FCP, and TTFB measured across real Chrome users, which is the data Google actually ranks on. When field data is not available, it falls back to a single lab measurement taken on your machine and labels it as such. The tab also reports total load time, DOM node count, resource count, and the render blocking scripts and stylesheets that delay first paint. HTTP and Redirects: traces the full server side redirect chain for the current URL, flags chains longer than two hops, and calls out any insecure HTTP hops mixed into an otherwise HTTPS chain. Hreflang: lists every hreflang tag on the page and flags a missing x-default entry, a common international SEO mistake. Security: checks whether the page is served over HTTPS, scans for mixed content (HTTP resources loading on an HTTPS page), and reads the actual response headers, Content-Security-Policy, X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options, HSTS, and Referrer-Policy, so you know exactly which security headers are missing. Schema and Structured Data: displays every JSON-LD block on the page in a clean, readable viewer with type badges and key properties, so you can confirm your schema markup is actually valid and eligible for Google rich results without digging through raw JSON. Rendering Mode Detection: compares the raw server-side HTML against the live rendered DOM to detect whether your page is server side rendered, client side rendered, or a hybrid. This tells you whether Googlebot and AI crawlers can read your content without executing JavaScript first, a critical and often overlooked ranking factor for JavaScript-heavy sites built on React, Next.js, Vue, Nuxt, or Gatsby. Includes automatic framework detection and a one-click developer brief you can copy straight into a ticket. Internal Links and Sitemap Analysis: parses your site's sitemap.xml and recommends the most topically relevant internal linking opportunities for the page you are currently viewing, grouped into topic clusters, so you can strengthen your internal linking structure without guessing. GEO: OPTIMIZE FOR AI SEARCH, NOT JUST GOOGLE This is what sets MapleTap apart from every other SEO checker extension. Generative engine optimization, sometimes called GEO or answer engine optimization (AEO), is the practice of making your content citable and discoverable by AI models like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity, not just crawlable by traditional search engines. MapleTap scores your page across 10 GEO categories and grades it A through F: Structured Data for AI: checks for FAQPage, HowTo, Article, and BreadcrumbList schema, sameAs entity links, speakable markup, and JSON-LD nesting depth, the signals AI models use to understand who you are and what your content covers. Semantic HTML: checks for proper main, article, nav, and figure elements, a valid lang attribute, and machine readable date formatting, all of which affect how easily an AI model can parse your document structure. Citability: checks whether your content is written in a way large language models actually like to quote, FAQ sections, definition lists, comparison tables, heading IDs for deep linking, a clear summary or TL;DR block, numbered how-to steps, and direct-answer opening sentences. Entity and Authority: checks for a visible author byline, author schema, published and modified dates, About, Contact, Privacy, and Terms pages, first-hand experience language, and author credentials, the E-E-A-T signals both Google and AI models use to judge trustworthiness. Accessibility for Agents: checks image alt text, labeled form inputs, keyboard navigation, skip links, and landmark elements, since AI agents and assistive technology both rely on the same underlying accessibility signals to navigate a page. Internal Linking, Meta and Discoverability, Machine Readability, Performance, and Agent Interactivity round out the full 10 category GEO score, including WebMCP form annotations for the emerging standard that lets AI agents interact with web forms directly. Every GEO category comes with a ranked list of specific, actionable fixes, not generic advice, actual recommendations like which schema type to add first or which page section needs a direct-answer paragraph. CRAWLER AND DISCOVERY FILES, CHECKED AUTOMATICALLY MapleTap automatically checks whether AI crawlers can even access your site in the first place, the single most overlooked GEO issue. It checks your robots.txt file for blocks against major AI crawlers, checks whether you have published a llms.txt file, and detects your sitemap by reading every Sitemap line in your robots.txt, verifying each one actually returns a sitemap, and probing the common paths used by WordPress, Shopify, and other major platforms when none is declared. If an AI crawler is blocked on your site right now, you will see it immediately. FULL AUDIT REPORT, MARKDOWN EXPORT, AND PRINT TO PDF Every audit can be turned into a full, client-ready report in one click. The Full Report is a single, clean, screenshot-ready page covering your SEO score, GEO grade, on-page checks, technical checks, and top fixes for every category, styled for readability, not a raw data dump. It includes a built-in Print or Save as PDF button so you or your client can save a polished PDF straight from the browser's print dialog. Prefer plain text? Export the exact same report as a Markdown file, ready to paste into Notion, a GitHub issue, or a client email. AUDIT HISTORY MapleTap automatically saves your SEO score for every domain you audit, right on your device, so you can track whether your changes actually improved your score over time without any external analytics or account. GOOGLEBOT SIMULATION Toggle JavaScript on or off for the current tab with one click to see exactly what a search engine crawler sees when it cannot execute your JavaScript, a fast way to catch content that only appears after client side rendering. BUILT FOR SPEED AND PRIVACY MapleTap runs entirely in your browser. It does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data, does not use analytics or tracking, and does not require an account. Almost every network request it makes (checking your own site's robots.txt, sitemap, headers, and redirect chain) goes directly from your browser to the site you are auditing, never through a MapleTap server, because there isn't one. The one exception is the field Core Web Vitals lookup, which asks Google's public Chrome UX Report API for the performance data of the page you are auditing. That request goes to Google, not to MapleTap, and returns only anonymous aggregate numbers. WORKS ON ANY PLATFORM MapleTap works on any live website regardless of what it is built with, including WordPress and Shopify sites as well as fully custom sites. The sitemap detection specifically recognizes common WordPress paths (sitemap_index.xml from Yoast, RankMath, or All in One SEO, and wp-sitemap.xml from WordPress core) alongside the standard sitemap.xml used by most other platforms, so you get an accurate answer no matter what your site runs on. WHO MAPLETAP IS FOR SEO consultants and agencies running client audits, in-house marketers checking a page before it goes live, content teams making sure new blog posts are AI-citable, developers debugging rendering and performance issues, WordPress and Shopify store owners doing their own SEO, and anyone who wants a fast answer to "is this page actually optimized" without opening five different tools or paying for a subscription. Made in Canada. Built and maintained by an SEO marketer who uses it every day, not a big software company. Feedback and feature requests are always welcome.
