Overview

Randomly routes address-bar searches to your own search engines by weight, with custom groups. Runs locally; no external relay.

Pick Engine sends your address-bar searches to the search engines you choose, picking one at random according to weights you set. Nothing passes through an external server. HOW IT WORKS - Type "pick" and a space in the address bar, then your query, to search with one of your engines. - Or register https://pick-engine.invalid/?q=%s as a site search in your browser settings to use Pick Engine as the default search engine, or under your own keyword. The address never leaves your browser: the extension catches it and redirects the tab to the chosen engine. - Add any engine whose search URL contains %s, set a weight for each, and turn engines on or off. - Create named groups of engines (for example "deep") and select one by adding &mode=deep to the registered URL. Without a mode, the default group is used. - Light, dark and system themes. Display languages: Japanese, English, Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, French and Portuguese. - Settings sync across your signed-in browsers, and can be kept on this device only. - Export your settings to a JSON file and restore them later. PRIVACY - No analytics, no tracking, no ads, no accounts. - Your queries are sent only to the search engine that is picked, exactly as if you had typed it there yourself. - Settings are stored with the browser's storage (chrome.storage). The developer never receives them. - The extension does not inject anything into the pages you visit. The default setup is Google 70% / Bing 30%. Edit it from the options page.
