We Don't Say That: Auto-Mute Profanity on YouTube & Prime Video
Overview
Automatically mutes selected profanity on YouTube and Prime Video with customizable family filtering controls.
🚫 WE DON’T SAY THAT – AUTO-MUTE PROFANITY ON YOUTUBE & PRIME VIDEO Enjoy cleaner playback with automatic, customizable language filtering in desktop Chrome. Try 30 days of Unlimited filtering. An account is required, but no payment card is needed. Your trial begins with your first successful filtered playback—not installation or signup. Updating or reinstalling does not restart your trial. After your trial, choose $3.99/month or $36/year to continue extension filtering. The monthly subscription is billed monthly; the yearly subscription is billed annually. Your trial does not automatically charge you or create a paid subscription. Existing users from before the trial launch keep their original free Basic access. 📺 MADE FOR DESKTOP CHROME Works with supported YouTube and Amazon Prime Video players in Chrome on a Windows PC, Mac, or Chromebook. This extension does not filter playback inside smart-TV apps, streaming devices, or mobile YouTube and Prime Video apps. Movies, rentals, and streaming subscriptions are purchased separately. The separate WDST YouTube website player remains free. 🚀 KEY FEATURES 🔇 Automatic Language Muting Automatically mutes matched profanity and other selected language categories, then restores the audio. 🎛️ Customizable Categories Choose which categories to filter, from strong profanity to milder language and family-strict terms. 📝 Personal Word Rules Add words and phrases to “Always mute,” or create “Never mute” exceptions. Your saved rules apply across YouTube and Prime Video in the extension when readable captions are available. These rules are separate from the website player’s settings. ⏱️ Caption-Based Timing Uses available captions, transcripts, and supported timing data to identify portions to mute. Timing accuracy depends on the source captions; some mutes may include surrounding dialogue. 👨👩👧👦 Remembered Preferences Keeps your selected filtering settings for future playback. Both platform popups show your saved personal-word counts, and the word-rule editor indicates when changes need saving. 🛡️ Optional Modesty-Scene Controls For matching Prime Video titles with verified scene data, skip selected scenes or hide the picture while allowing audio to continue. This secondary feature has limited coverage. It does not automatically detect every visual scene, and many titles do not have verified scene data. Modesty-scene controls are not required for language filtering. 💡 HOW IT WORKS 1. Install We Don’t Say That in desktop Chrome. 2. Create or sign in to your WDST account and select “Sync my account to WDST.” 3. For Prime Video, enable the extension’s optional Prime access, then reload the video page. 4. Open a supported YouTube or Prime Video title with usable English captions. 5. Choose your language categories and optional personal word rules. 6. WDST automatically mutes matched language during playback. Account syncing connects your website account to the installed extension. It does not install the extension, start your trial, or charge you. Your 30-day trial starts when filtered playback first succeeds. You can see its expiration in your account and extension. When the trial expires, a currently authorized, already-filtering video can finish. A subscription is required to begin filtering another video or replay, unless you have existing Basic or other eligible complimentary access. 🆓 EXISTING USERS Users from before the trial launch retain free Basic access: up to 20 distinct YouTube videos and 1 distinct Prime Video title or episode per UTC day. Replaying or reloading an already-counted video that same day does not consume another use. Gifted early-supporter accounts retain Unlimited access until their stated gift expiration, then return to Basic. Check your account for your dates. A complimentary gift does not automatically cancel an existing paid subscription. Contact support if you lose existing-user access after reinstalling. 🔒 PRIVACY AND DATA USE WDST processes supported video identifiers, available captions, player state, and access information to provide filtering. For YouTube, the video ID and selected filtering profile are sent to WDST. The service retrieves available public captions and may cache them for up to 12 hours. For Prime Video, caption text is processed locally and discarded. Title and edition identifiers are used for access checks and community-filter lookups. Personal “Always mute” and “Never mute” lists are stored in Chrome extension storage and may sync through your Chrome profile. For personalized YouTube filtering, these lists are sent securely to WDST in the request body. They are processed without adding the lists or their personalized timings to the shared community archive. Prime Video applies your lists locally without sending them to WDST. These lists do not sync through your WDST account or to the website player. You can edit or clear them in the extension’s “My word rules” settings. Account information supports sign-in and access verification. WDST retains your trial’s original start timestamp so reinstalling cannot restart it. Daily-access records use a one-way IP-derived identifier for signed-out users rather than retaining the raw IP address in those records. Limited operational logs may also be processed. Existing-user eligibility uses a random installation identifier and previous extension version. Eligibility can be linked to your account when connected. Optional community contributions share disclosed edition, category, and timing data—not Prime transcripts, private notes, screenshots, or video frames. • Does not sell extension user data • Does not use extension data for personalized advertising • Does not display advertising inside the extension • Does not load or execute remote program code • Stores filtering preferences in Chrome Privacy policy: [https://wedontsaythat.net/privacy-policy](https://wedontsaythat.net/privacy-policy) 💳 SUBSCRIPTIONS AND SUPPORT Subscriptions are sold by We Don’t Say That, not Google. Manage or cancel your subscription from your WDST account. Personal word rules require readable captions; an exception cannot identify an unknown word that the source captions have already censored. No automated filter can guarantee detection of every word or scene. Unlimited access removes applicable daily usage limits; it does not improve detection accuracy or make unsupported videos work. We Don’t Say That is an independent product and is not endorsed by or affiliated with YouTube, Google, Amazon, or Prime Video.
