Chrome offers to translate, gets half the page, forgets the moment a menu opens, re-translates sites that already had English, and breaks the checkout. Then a cookie box, then "allow notifications?", then a newsletter pop-up. Every site, every day. Percebo ends that. Install it once and Portuguese pages simply arrive in English, and stay that way. We built it for our own family in Portugal. We didn't realise how much it was carrying us until we switched it off for a week. Now it's free for everyone. WHAT YOU GET • The whole page in English. Menus, dropdowns, buttons, placeholders, the tab title, pop-ups and everything that loads as you scroll. Nothing slips back into Portuguese when a menu opens. • The site's own English, when it has one. A real English site beats any translation, so Percebo switches to it. Never in the middle of a form or a login. • Carts and forms that still work. Prices, dates and reference numbers stay exactly as written. Option values and buttons are untouched, so what you submit is what the site expects. • Cookie boxes answered for you. Accept, reject where the site allows it, or leave them alone. It works on other languages too if you want it to. PRIVACY, IN PLAIN WORDS To translate a page, its text is sent in short pieces to Google Translate, the same service Chrome's own translator uses. That's all of the page's text, including whatever the page shows you, such as a balance or an address. Nothing you type is sent, no passwords, nothing on English pages, and nothing at all when the site has its own English version. No account. No sign-in. No analytics. No adverts. No subscription. No server of our own. Your settings and a cache of translations stay on your computer, and uninstalling removes them. Free.
