Turn your tabs into to-dos you can finally clear. Those 40 open tabs are a to-do list, and Tasktab makes them look like one. Write a task in Chrome's side panel and give it the tabs it needs, or none. When you check it off, its tabs close. For once, your tab count goes down. HOW IT WORKS • A task can hold a tab group, one tab, or no tabs at all. • You can add the tab you're on, or its whole group, in one click. • When you open a link from a task's tab, the new tab joins that task. That's the only thing that happens on its own. • When you close a task's tabs, the task keeps them. One click opens them all again, grouped. • When you check a task off, its tabs close. You can undo it right away. • Each task's tabs are its own Chrome tab group, so the tab strip matches your list. WHAT IT WON'T DO • Browsing never adds anything to your list. Opening, closing or grouping tabs doesn't create or delete a task. • It won't take over tab groups you made unless you add them. • It leaves pinned tabs alone, so keep your mail there. ALSO • Your list has columns for Now and This week, and you can add your own. • Tasks can have labels, a size such as "30m", subtasks, and a repeat rule such as "every Friday". • Focus (Alt+Shift+F) folds everything but the task you're on, in the panel and the tab strip. • You can rename any tab. Chrome can't, but Tasktab keeps the name and, with your permission, shows it in the tab strip too. • Alt+K opens the panel, and Alt+Shift+Up and Down move between tasks. You can also set keys to jump to tasks 1 to 9. • Everything can be undone and redone. PRIVACY Tasktab is free, and you don't need an account. Your list stays in this browser. If you sign in with an email code, your list syncs to your other browsers and your phone. Sync sends task titles, columns, and the addresses and titles of tabs you've added to tasks.
