Overview

Fix IE-era JavaScript, WebForms, framesets, and modal dialogs on authorized legacy sites in Chrome and Edge.

Keep legacy intranet and ASP.NET WebForms pages usable in Chrome and Microsoft Edge when they still depend on IE-era JavaScript or DOM behavior. IE Compat Bridge is designed for old business web applications that mostly load in a modern browser but break on framesets, loading redirects, legacy event handlers, modal picker dialogs, or older WebForms controls. After installation, open the affected page, click the extension, and enable compatibility for the current domain. Chrome asks for access only for that site. When enabled, IE Compat Bridge can help with common old-page behaviors such as: - Empty frameset entry pages - Stalled loading redirect pages - IE-style event handlers such as attachEvent, window.event, and event.srcElement - showModalDialog-style picker flows - document.frames access patterns - Older WebForms date fields that call calendar() on focus The extension runs compatibility fixes only on domains you configure and authorize. It does not request access to every website at install time. Important boundary: IE Compat Bridge is not an Internet Explorer engine. It does not run ActiveX, COM controls, VBScript, Trident rendering, Java applets, Browser Helper Objects, or true IE7/IE8 document modes. Pages that require those technologies need Microsoft Edge IE mode, a Windows virtual machine, remote desktop, or another real IE-compatible environment. Use cases: - Test whether one legacy business page can stay usable in Chrome while migration work continues. - Enable compatibility for one legacy domain directly from the extension popup. - Manage approved domains from the Options page. - Keep browser permissions limited to the sites you choose. - Copy local diagnostics for support without uploading page content automatically. Access is activated by verifying the email used for a Paddle purchase. Purchases and access management are handled on the product website. Payments are handled outside the extension through Paddle. Google is not the seller. Privacy summary: License and subscription verification sends only accountEmail, optional licenseKey, extensionVersion, and installId. The extension does not upload webpage body text, screenshots, cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, form values, or browser history. Diagnostics are local and are copied only when the user clicks Copy Diagnostics.
