IDX – Internet Downloader X
Overview
Automatically send downloads to IDX and download direct video, HLS and DASH from floating player panels.
IDX is an open-source alternative to Internet Download Manager, rewritten in Rust for Windows. This extension connects Chrome to IDX so you can send downloads straight to the app and choose video quality from a small menu above the player. Download a file, right-click a link, or pick a video quality from the player menu. IDX handles the download on your desktop, where you can pause and resume transfers, organise files into categories, and manage queues and schedules. If IDX cannot accept a browser download, Chrome continues it. The video menu offers quality choices, Download all and a compact Mini mode. You can hide a panel, exclude a site, or switch IDX off for the current tab from the toolbar. To get started, install the IDX desktop app for Windows and open it once, then enable this extension. Download IDX: https://github.com/itsParassharma/IDX-Internet-Downloader-X/releases/latest Works with direct media files, completed HLS streams and static DASH. Live streams and DRM-protected media are not supported. Download details and matching login cookies are handled locally so IDX can download files you can already access. There are no ads or analytics. See our privacy policy for details.
