With IDNI you get your own private address in the country you pick. It's yours alone and stays the same every day, so websites see you in that country and keep recognizing you. Turn it off any time to go back to your normal connection. Setup takes about a minute: copy one line from your welcome email and the extension does the rest. WHAT IT DOES • One switch: click the IDNI icon to turn your private address on or off for this browser. • Paste once: copy the one-line details from your IDNI welcome email and paste them in. The extension fills in your address, port, username and password. • Check it works: see the IP address and place websites see right now, in plain English. The extension asks two location services and only names a city or state when they agree; otherwise it shows the country and tells you what most IP checkers show (for example "United States. Most IP checkers show Dallas, Texas."). • Video-call protection: browser video calls (WebRTC) use your private address too. You can turn this off if a call stops working. • Websites to leave alone: choose sites that should keep using your normal connection. • Time zone tip: if your computer's clock is set to a different time zone from your private address, the extension shows how to change it, so websites show the right local times. • Plain-English messages if something's wrong, like a mistyped password or another proxy extension that's already active. When you check the connection, the extension asks two location services (IP2Location and GeoJS) which IP address and approximate location websites see, and names a city only when they agree; your details aren't included.
