VeriFYD Lens helps protect supported browser downloads before you open them. When Automatic Protection is enabled, VeriFYD Lens pauses a supported download while the locally installed VeriFYD Lens Agent analyzes a protected copy of the file. Lens combines three categories of information: • Security — checks for potentially unsafe files, suspicious download characteristics, and available Microsoft Defender results. • Authenticity — analyzes supported media and documents for indicators of AI generation, manipulation, or tampering. • Trust — provides contextual confidence based on available source, metadata, provenance, and other supporting signals. Results are presented in an easy-to-understand color-coded interface so you can decide whether to save the protected copy, review the file further, or delete it. VeriFYD Lens also adds a right-click option that allows supported links to be manually submitted for protected analysis. VeriFYD Lens requires the VeriFYD Lens companion application for Windows. The browser extension communicates with the companion application locally through your computer at 127.0.0.1 / localhost. VeriFYD Lens does not claim that every file can be determined safe or authentic. Results are decision-support signals and should be considered together with the source and context of the file.
