Themes for Substack
Overview
Sepia, Paper, Sage, Mist and Night reading themes for Substack. Not affiliated with Substack.
Read Substack in a calmer color theme. Themes for Substack recolors Substack pages with one of five reading themes: • Sepia – warm parchment with dark brown text • Paper – soft off-white with near-black text • Sage – pale green-gray • Mist – very light blue • Night – dark charcoal with warm light text How it works • Pick a theme in the toolbar popup. It applies to every Substack page right away, including posts, the reader feed and publication home pages. • Give one publication its own theme: open it, choose "This publication", and pick a theme. Every other page keeps your default. • Keep each publication's accent color, or let buttons and links follow the theme. • Turn themes on or off from the popup or with Alt+Shift+S. Publications on their own domain Many newsletters use their own web address instead of name.substack.com. When you open one, the popup offers "Enable on this site". Chrome asks for permission for that one site, and the theme applies there from then on. You can turn it off again from the popup. Privacy The extension has no servers and collects nothing. Your theme choices are saved in Chrome's own settings storage and sync only through your own Google account. Themes pause while Substack's own dark mode is on. Themes for Substack is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Substack. "Substack" is used only to describe the site the extension works on.
