Open-source browser MCP for Claude Code, Codex and any coding agent. Ichiro is browser automation for the agent you already run it reads web pages and acts on them in your own Chrome, with your logins, and asks you before anything risky. Ichiro has no AI of its own and needs no API key or account. Your agent decides what to do, and every command it sends shows up in the side panel. What your agent can do • Read any page as a numbered list of things to click or type into. After each action, Ichiro sends back only what changed: 4.7× fewer tokens per command than full-page replies, measured on a slide-deck run. • Click, type, drag and press keys with a real mouse and keyboard, even on canvas apps like whiteboards and slide editors. • Do a task once, then repeat it on up to 30 similar items with one approval. The repeats run without the AI, and every step still passes your safety checks. • Save tips about a site and hand them to the next agent that visits it. You can delete any tip. • Read PDFs and open your localhost dev server to check the app it just built. Safety • Your agent works only on sites you allow. A new site asks you first. • Paying, booking, sending, checking out or entering personal data pause and ask you. • Sign-in, password and card fields and CAPTCHAs are left to you, and each download waits for your yes. • Page text reaches the agent marked as untrusted, and the agent is told never to follow instructions found in it. Privacy Ichiro has no server and no analytics. Page data goes only to the coding agent on your computer, through a local helper protected by a random token. Your agent may send it to its AI provider under that provider's own policy. Setup Ichiro needs a small local helper and MCP server from https://github.com/Lakshay1509/ichiro, plus Node.js 22.18 or newer. The README walks you through it. While a command runs, Chrome shows its "debugging this browser" bar: that's the debugger permission sending real mouse and keyboard input. Free and open source under the MIT license.
