Overview

Find any font, instantly. Snip or highlight text on any page to identify its typeface.

Glyph identifies the font used anywhere on the web. Point at live text for the exact face, snip lettering out of an image, or click a picture. How it works: • Snip tool: drag a box around any text, including text in images. Glyph names the closest WhatFontIs match, plus a few similar faces. • Image Selector: click a picture, background, or canvas. Glyph reads the file, preferring a larger version than the one on the page. • WhatFontIs is the default. Haiku 4.5, Sonnet 5, Opus 5.5, and Fable 5.1 run only when WhatFontIs can't separate the letters. • Snip and Image Selector share 20 identifications a day, resetting at midnight UTC. • Sharper snip, in Settings, briefly zooms the box you draw so the letters come out clearer. • Highlight tool: hover and click any element to see its font family, weight, and size. • Text selection: turn this on in Settings to get the same card when you highlight text with your cursor. Features: • The 20 most recent fonts, with a preview, copyable details, and a link back to the page. Search them and save up to 50. New history can be turned off; saved fonts stay. • A link to Google Fonts, Fontsource, Fontshare, Adobe Fonts, or Font Squirrel when Glyph recognises the family. WhatFontIs matches link to that catalog page and are marked free or commercial. • A small on-page window you can resize and place in any corner. • Light and dark mode, remembered across sessions. • Shortcuts for Snip and Highlight text, both changeable in Chrome. • A toolbar badge showing which tool is active. • Snip and Image Selector work without an API key and send the image to WhatFontIs. An optional Anthropic key stays on your device and is sent only with a Claude fallback. For designers matching a typeface, developers inspecting a site, or anyone curious what a page is set in. ***VERSION 1.0.0 RELEASED NOW***
