Unclutter — Modern Reader Mode

This is a very polished tool. It's hands down one of the best reader modes , putting things in a clear and readable view , with good font choices, dark mode, allowing basic annotation , and having sync to back up the annotations. It can also work as simple "read it later" solution with its "unfinished" queue , as long as it's only a handful of articles , as this isn't Readwise. Really lovely. Feels like a fellow friend making an app for other friends. One wish: the option to turn off the auto highlight when selecting text. I'm one of those that highlights as I read to keep track of where I am on the page. EDIT: The developer already coded it in. What a boss.

Almost too good to be true... "almost" because it is truly that good ! TRY IT ALREADY 🫡 I needed an extension to turn mobile style pages -that only fill the center of the screen (pretty much 90% of the web nowadays)- to a format more suited to my WQHD monitor, this does just that and more, a true hidden gem that earned it's pin on my extension bar.

I rarely leave reviews for Chrome extensions. This is easily THE best reading mode extension for Chrome. Great job and thank you for making it public and let us use it, it became a pleasure again to read the articles online.

Absolutely needed for every tab. I will never go a day of studying without this, awesome work!

An excellent extension for customising a reader view and automating for certain sites. There is an issue where if you take out a trial of their library / hypothes.is linking services and then this expires - the addon keeps making thousands of network requests to these sites. I've reported on github but you can fix this by 1. deleting cookies and data from here: https://my.unclutter.it/ 2. removing and reinstalling unclutter fixes this issue. No more excessive network requests :)

I have tried many extensions that have the same goal, and I haven't found a better one than this which can capture all the text from web pages. It seems that certain delimiters prevent extensions from capturing what is above or below these elements. There are two aspects to improve: 1. Highlighting has errors: it highlights lines that you're not marking. 2. When you select words, they are covered in white and cannot be seen.
