Overview

Private notes and customizable decline templates for Medium publication editors. 100% local. Zero telemetry.

Curate is a quiet, privacy-first companion for Medium publication editors. If you run a publication on Medium, you know the routine: a steady stream of submissions, the same handful of reasons for declining, and no good place to keep your private thoughts on each piece. Curate fixes that — without adding anything to Medium's servers. ★ PRIVATE NOTES ON EVERY SUBMISSION Write notes against each submission. They save automatically, are tied to the submission's ID, and are visible only to you. A small dot on the Curate button tells you when you've already left a note. ★ DECLINE & FEEDBACK TEMPLATES Start with five thoughtful templates written for real editorial situations: • Off-topic for our publication • Needs another pass • AI-generated content concerns • Great piece, not right now • Formatting & sourcing issues Edit them, write your own, organize them by category and drag to reorder. ★ ONE-CLICK INSERT Open Medium's note or decline field, click Insert, and the template is filled in — with the writer's name, story title, your publication and your signature already in place. If no field is open, Curate copies the text so you can paste it anywhere. ★ FEELS LIKE PART OF MEDIUM A small floating button and a clean side panel, designed to match medium.com: system typography, generous whitespace, hairline borders and thin line icons. Press Alt+Shift+C to open it from anywhere on Medium. ★ PRIVATE BY DESIGN • All data is stored locally in your browser • No accounts, no sign-up, no servers • No analytics, tracking or telemetry of any kind • No remote code • Minimal permissions: storage, and access to medium.com only • The panel runs in an isolated, closed Shadow DOM ★ BACKUP & SHARE Export your templates as JSON to back them up or share them with co-editors. Import with merge or replace. WHY LOCAL? Medium has said that richer, customisable decline reasons are something editors want, but that adding open text fields to the platform raises real concerns about harassment. Curate keeps your notes and templates entirely on your own device, so you get the flexibility without any new surface on Medium. Curate is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Medium.
