Overview

Cast the coins and read the Book of Changes — all 64 hexagrams, changing lines, coin and yarrow odds, and a casting record.

Cast the I Ching the way it has been cast for two thousand years — and watch it happen. Three bronze coins flip six times. With every throw, one line of your hexagram draws itself onto the screen, from the bottom up. Old yin and old yang appear as glowing changing lines, and when the cast is complete you receive both your primary hexagram and the hexagram it transforms into, each with its Judgment, its Image, and its trigram composition. WHAT'S INSIDE • The full casting ritual — animated three-coin method with six throws. In a hurry? Tap anywhere to speed the coins. • Changing lines, properly handled — lines cast as 6 (old yin) or 9 (old yang) are marked in bronze, interpreted by their position in the hexagram (the beginning, the inner center, the threshold, the minister's place, the ruler's place, the culmination), and resolved into a second hexagram. • Two divination methods — switch between three-coin odds (1/8 · 3/8 · 3/8 · 1/8) and the classical yarrow-stalk probabilities (1/16 · 5/16 · 7/16 · 3/16), which weight the lines the way the traditional 50-stalk ritual does. • The complete Book — all 64 hexagrams in the King Wen sequence, rendered with their proper Unicode glyphs. Tap any of them for its name in Chinese, pinyin and English, its trigrams, and a concise original reading. • A casting record — your last twenty consultations, with the questions you asked, kept on your device. • Hold a question — type what's on your mind before you cast; it's saved alongside the result. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No network requests. No analytics. No accounts. The only permission the extension asks for is local storage, used solely to keep your own casting record on your own device. Everything works offline. The I Ching is among the oldest books in continuous use — a Bronze Age divination manual that became a classic of Chinese philosophy, read by everyone from Confucian scholars to Leibniz, Jung, and John Cage. Whether you consult it seriously, use it as a thinking tool, or simply enjoy the play of chance and pattern, this extension gives you the whole apparatus in your toolbar. Readings are original concise interpretations in the spirit of the classical Judgment and Image texts; they are offered for reflection and entertainment.
