PDF and PowerPoint file compression directly in the browser, without uploading to the cloud: convenient and private

HyperCompress makes PDF and PowerPoint files smaller without ever sending them anywhere. Everything happens inside your browser tab: no upload, no server, no account. Disconnect from the internet and it still works. TWO MODES - Fit under a size limit — set a target (20 MB by default) and the extension steps image quality down through a ladder of presets, stopping at the first one that fits. Made for email attachment limits and upload forms. - Maximum compression — one aggressive pass. Images are capped at 1280 px and re-encoded at JPEG quality 55, which still looks clean on a screen or a projector. WHAT GETS COMPRESSED Nearly all the weight of a deck or a document sits in its raster images, so that is exactly what HyperCompress rewrites. In PPTX files every image inside the archive is decoded, downscaled and re-encoded. Pictures that carry real transparency stay PNG so nothing loses its alpha channel. Slide layouts, text, fonts, charts, notes, animations and metadata pass through untouched. In PDF files only the embedded images are rewritten. Text stays text — still selectable, searchable and copyable — and vectors, fonts, links and bookmarks are preserved. The document is then re-serialized with object streams, which trims structural bloat too. HONEST ABOUT RESULTS Under every file name you see what actually happened: how many images were recompressed, how much of the file those images weigh, and the reason each skipped image was skipped. If the weight of your PDF is text and vectors rather than pictures, HyperCompress tells you so instead of pretending to work. BATCH WORK Add several files at once, compress, then tick the ones you want and download them together. Add more files later and only the new ones are processed. Password-protected PDFs are refused rather than re-saved into a broken file, and legacy binary .ppt is detected with a clear explanation. INTERFACE English by default, switchable to Russian with one click. The choice is remembered. PRIVACY The only permission requested is "storage", used solely to remember your language choice. ДВА РЕЖИМА - Уложиться в лимит размера — задайте цель (по умолчанию 20 МБ), и расширение будет понижать качество изображений по лестнице пресетов, остановившись на первом, который влезает. Сделано под ограничения почтовых вложений и форм загрузки. - Максимальное сжатие — один агрессивный проход. Изображения ограничиваются 1280 px и пересжимаются с качеством JPEG 55 — на экране и на проекторе выглядит чисто. ЧТО ИМЕННО СЖИМАЕТСЯ Почти весь вес презентации или документа приходится на растровые изображения — именно их HyperCompress и переписывает. В PPTX каждое изображение внутри архива декодируется, уменьшается и пересжимается. Картинки с настоящей прозрачностью остаются PNG, чтобы не потерять альфа-канал. Разметка слайдов, текст, шрифты, диаграммы, заметки, анимации и метаданные не трогаются. В PDF переписываются только встроенные изображения. Текст остаётся текстом — выделяется, ищется, копируется; векторы, шрифты, ссылки и закладки сохраняются. Затем документ пересобирается с object streams, что дополнительно убирает структурный мусор. ЧЕСТНО О РЕЗУЛЬТАТЕ Под именем каждого файла видно, что произошло на самом деле: сколько изображений пересжато, какой вес на них приходится и по какой причине пропущены остальные. Если вес вашего PDF составляют текст и вектор, а не картинки, HyperCompress так и скажет, а не сделает вид, что поработал. ПАКЕТНАЯ РАБОТА Добавьте сразу несколько файлов, сожмите, отметьте нужные галочками и скачайте вместе. Добавили файлы позже — обработаются только новые. PDF с паролем расширение отклоняет, а не пересохраняет в битый файл; старый двоичный .ppt распознаётся с понятным объяснением. ИНТЕРФЕЙС Английский по умолчанию, переключение на русский одним нажатием. Выбор запоминается. КОНФИДЕНЦИАЛЬНОСТЬ Единственное запрашиваемое разрешение — "storage", только чтобы запомнить выбранный язык. Расширение не делает никаких сетевых запросов и ничего не собирает.
