Overview

Reads the ships on your own RSI pledges pages when you press Sync on the HVC site. You review the list before anything is saved.

HVC Hangar Sync copies the list of ships you have pledged for on your Roberts Space Industries account into the Hyperion Vanguard Corporation website, so your org's hangar page reflects what you actually own instead of what somebody typed from memory. It is a single-purpose tool for one Star Citizen organisation. If you are not an HVC member it will do nothing for you, because the only site it will talk to is the HVC website. WHAT IT DOES Press "Sync from RSI" on your hangar page on the HVC site. The extension opens your own RSI pledges pages in the background, reads the name and quantity off each row that RSI marks as a ship, and hands that list back to the site. You then see the exact list before anything is saved. Nothing is written to your org profile until you approve it. Rows that are not ships - upgrades, paints, posters, standalone modules and other pledges - are listed separately, struck through, and are not saved. That is why the ship count is always smaller than your total pledge count. WHAT IT READS, AND WHAT IT DOES NOT It reads: ship names and quantities, from the rows on your pledges pages that RSI marks as ships. It does not read, store, or transmit: prices, order numbers, purchase dates, gift status, billing details, payment methods, your email address, your password, or any account setting. It never asks for your RSI credentials, and it cannot see them. It uses the RSI session already signed in to your own browser, exactly as if you had opened the page yourself. It has no analytics, no telemetry, and no third-party servers. The only destination the extension will hand data to is the HVC website. WHY THE PERMISSIONS ARE WHAT THEY ARE Host access is limited to two URL patterns, both on robertsspaceindustries.com and both under /account/pledges. It cannot read any other page on RSI, and it cannot read any other website at all. There is no all-sites permission, no browsing history access, and no access to your other tabs. "scripting" is what lets it read the ship rows on the pledges page. "storage" holds the state of a sync in progress, so a scan of a large hangar survives the browser suspending the background worker. "externally connectable" is restricted to the HVC website. This is what stops any other site on the internet from asking the extension to run a scan. A sync can only be started from the hangar page on the HVC site. The extension checks that itself rather than trusting the request, so a page cannot ask it to scan on your behalf from anywhere else. IT REFUSES RATHER THAN SAVING A SHORT LIST Syncing replaces your pledged ships, so a list that stopped early would quietly archive hulls you still own. That happened to a member in August 2026. Since then a sync has to reach a properly declared end of your hangar before it is allowed to save anything. If RSI throttles a page, it waits and retries. If it still cannot confirm it reached the end, it refuses the whole sync and changes nothing at all, rather than saving what it managed to read. Before you approve, it tells you how many pages it read and how many hulls it found, so the number you approve is the number that saves. A LARGE HANGAR TAKES A MOMENT The scan reads every page of your pledges, one at a time, deliberately unhurried so it does not hammer RSI. Several hundred pledges can take a minute or two. Leave it running; it reports progress as it goes. HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT IS This is a convenience tool, not proof of ownership. Everything runs in your own browser, so somebody determined to claim a ship they do not own still could. It is not designed to prevent that. What it is for is planning: an org hangar that starts from what RSI actually shows, rather than from a list typed out by hand. NOT AN OFFICIAL RSI OR CLOUD IMPERIUM PRODUCT HVC Hangar Sync is an unofficial, fan-made tool.
