Hush - mute on speak
Overview
Automatically mutes, fades, or pauses browser audio when you start talking, and restores it when you stop.
Hush keeps your browser quiet while you talk. The moment you start speaking, Hush automatically silences whatever audio is playing in your tabs - music, videos, podcasts - and brings it back the instant you stop. No more scrambling for the pause button when a colleague walks over or a call comes in. WHAT IT CAN DO - Mute: instantly mutes the tab that is playing sound - Fade out: smoothly lowers the volume, then restores it - Pause: pauses the video/audio and resumes when you are done - Fade & pause: eases the volume down, then pauses - Adjustable transition time for the smooth actions TWO DETECTION MODES - Normal: a simple loudness threshold you can calibrate yourself - Speech: focuses on the human-voice range and adapts to background noise on its own PRIVATE BY DESIGN - Your microphone is analyzed live, on your device, only to sense when you are talking - Audio is never recorded, stored, or sent anywhere - No accounts, no servers, no analytics, no tracking - Your settings are stored locally in your browser EXTRAS - Light and dark themes - English and Turkish interface - The toolbar icon clearly shows whether Hush is on (color) or off (grey) How it works: Hush measures the loudness of your microphone in real time. When it crosses your trigger level, it applies your chosen action to the tabs currently playing sound, then reverses it when you go quiet. Everything runs locally on your machine.
