Overview

Automatically mutes your microphone on Google Meet when you're not speaking

Hush Meet automatically mutes your microphone on Google Meet when you're not speaking, preventing background noise from reaching other participants. ■ Key Features • Auto Mute Control Automatically unmutes when you start speaking and re-mutes after you stop. Asymmetric threshold design prevents chattering (rapid toggling). • Voice-Weighted Noise Gate Emphasizes human voice frequencies (300Hz–3kHz), reducing false triggers from keyboard, fan, and ambient noise. • 4 Operating Modes Off: Extension disabled — Meet default behavior Auto: Speech-triggered unmute & auto-mute (for quiet environments) Auto-Off: Manual unmute or shortcut only, auto-mute after speech (for noisy environments) Push-to-Talk: Hold shortcut key to speak, auto-mutes when released • Customizable Shortcut Key (default: Ctrl+Shift+M) Toggle mute in Auto/Auto-Off modes, hold-to-talk in Push-to-Talk mode. Works in all modes except Off. • Manual Mute Detection When you mute or unmute via the Meet mute button, the extension follows your action without changing the selected mode. • Microphone Device Selector Choose which microphone to use. Supports any audio input device, not just the system default. • Real-time Audio Visualization Audio level meter and 16-band spectrum analyzer visualize your mic input in real time. • Mode-Aware Toolbar Icon Icon color and badge change based on the active mode, so you can see the current state at a glance. • 4 Themes Choose from Default, Analog Radio (wood grain), Boombox (metallic), and Retro Future (neon synthwave) visual themes. • Multilingual (7 Languages) Switch between English, Japanese, German, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, and French manually, or use "Auto" mode to follow your browser language. • Games Bored in a meeting? Retro-future mini-games included (Breakout / Space Invaders / 2048 / Flappy Bird). Fair warning: game sound effects can trigger auto-unmute. Set your sensitivity just right and enjoy the thrill of not getting caught. ■ Settings • Mode — Off / Auto / Auto-Off / Push-to-Talk (default: Auto) • Shortcut Key — keyboard shortcut for mute control (default: Ctrl+Shift+M) • Speech detection sensitivity (default: 0.025) • Grace period — delay before re-muting after speech (default: 1.5s) • Microphone selection • Theme • Language ■ Privacy All audio processing happens locally in your browser. No data is sent to external servers. The only permission used is "storage". ■ How to Use 1. Join a Google Meet call 2. Click the Hush Meet icon in the toolbar 3.
