Overview

Chrome extension that types text into web pages with human-like rhythm.

Human Typing types text into a page the way a person would. Paste what you want typed, pick the field, press Start. What lands on the page is not a paste and not a metronome: keystroke intervals depend on what you just typed, hands take about twenty characters to find their rhythm and drift slower over a long stretch, sentences get a beat at their boundaries, and the occasional typo gets backspaced away. WHAT YOU GET • Four typists, from hunt-and-peck at 27 wpm to a 105 wpm speed demon. They differ in jitter, typo rate and stamina, not just speed — or set any speed from 10 to 140 wpm yourself. • Pick a field once and it stays picked, so starting no longer depends on whatever happens to be focused. • Preview the rhythm inside the panel before you use it on a page. • A countdown of 3, 5 or 10 seconds before typing begins, and Stop at any time. • An estimate of how long a run will take, before you start it. • Typos on or off. WHO IT'S FOR Demos and screencasts, where a wall of text appearing at once looks wrong. QA of input handling. Accessibility work. Testing typeahead, autosave, character counters and validation against input that arrives one key at a time, the way real input does. PRIVACY Nothing leaves your browser. There is no account, no server and no analytics; your text is stored on your machine and typed on your machine. The extension declares no content script — it asks for page access once, and injects only when you press Start. KNOWN LIMITS Chrome blocks extensions from typing into chrome:// pages, the Web Store and other extensions' pages. Google Docs paints its own canvas and is out of reach. Editors that manage their own document model — ProseMirror, Lexical, Slate, CodeMirror — are supported. A single run is capped at 20,000 characters.
