Overview
Convert any element on a web page to Markdown and save it as a .md file.
html2markdown turns any part of a web page into clean Markdown. Click the toolbar icon, press "Select element," then hover and click the part of the page you want. The extension converts that element's HTML into well-formed GitHub-Flavored Markdown — headings, lists, links, tables, code blocks, task lists, and strikethrough — and lets you save it as a .md file. WHY YOU'LL LIKE IT • Visual element picker — hover to highlight, click to capture exactly what you want. • Clean output — powered by Turndown with GitHub-Flavored Markdown (tables, task lists, strikethrough). • One-click save — download the result as a .md file. • Cross-browser — Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. PRIVACY FIRST • No data collection, no tracking, no analytics. • No remote servers — all conversion happens locally in your browser. • Minimal permissions: it only acts on the current tab, and only after you click "Select element." It never runs in the background or on pages you haven't acted on. HOW IT WORKS 1. Click the html2markdown icon in your toolbar. 2. Press "Select element." 3. Hover over the page — the element under your cursor is outlined. 4. Click the element to convert it to Markdown. 5. Review the result and click Save to download a .md file.
