Overview

Check any US HTS / HS code offline: official description, duty rate, the full code path, and whether the code really exists.

Check any US Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) code in one click — without leaving the page you are on. Type a code (4 to 10 digits, dots optional) and see: • the official description and where the code sits in the schedule (heading › subheading › line) • the general duty rate, special program rates, column 2 rate and units of quantity • whether the code really exists in the current schedule — codes from suppliers, old paperwork or AI chatbots are often made up or outdated, and the extension shows the closest valid code • for headings and subheadings, the more detailed lines under them, so you end on a code you can declare Or type a few words ("lithium ion", "cotton sweater") to find candidate lines in the official text. Everyday words such as "laptop", "hoodie" or "trading cards" — which the tariff text never uses — lead to a step-by-step classification guide and the codes it can end on. Right-click: select a code on any web page, right-click and choose "Look up in the US tariff schedule". Keyboard: Alt+Shift+H opens the lookup. Works offline and stays current. The complete schedule from the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) is bundled inside the extension, and when USITC publishes a new revision the extension downloads the new data file by itself (checked against its checksum before use). Nothing you look up leaves your browser, and the extension collects no data. Also in Chinese and Spanish: the interface follows your browser language, and everyday product words in those languages lead to the right guide. Good to know: • The general rate is the normal trade relations rate. Additional duties under Chapter 99 (for example Section 301 or 232) may apply depending on the country of origin. • Word search only finds candidates. The right code depends on material, use and how a product is made — step-by-step classification guides with official CBP rulings are at hs-code.net. Independent tool, not affiliated with USITC, U.S. Customs and Border Protection or any government agency. Not legal advice.
