Hreflang Pro is an all-in-one hreflang auditor that checks an entire language/region cluster in one click — straight from the page you're on. Most hreflang checkers look at a single page. Hreflang Pro builds the whole cluster: it reads hreflang from the HTML <head>, HTTP Link headers and XML sitemaps — including sitemap indexes discovered via robots.txt — fetches every alternate URL, and validates the set as a whole. Then it gives you a health score and the exact fix for every issue. WHAT IT CHECKS • Return tags — confirms every page links back (reciprocal hreflang) • Self-referencing tags — flags pages that don't include themselves • Invalid or mistyped codes — full ISO 639-1 language, ISO 15924 script (zh-Hans, sr-Latn) and ISO 3166-1 region validation, with typo suggestions and deprecated-code notices • Cross-page consistency — catches pages that disagree about which URL serves each language • Sitemap vs HTML conflicts — flags when your sitemap and live pages declare different hreflang • Canonical conflicts — spots canonicals that undermine your hreflang • x-default — checks it's present, in-cluster and not redirecting • Redirects & unreachable pages — finds alternates that 404, redirect or time out, and probes redirects to tell language-sniffing (which breaks crawlers) from geo-redirects • robots.txt — flags alternates Googlebot can't crawl • noindex conflicts — including X-Robots-Tag headers • <html lang> and Content-Language mismatches • Relative URLs, #fragments, tracking parameters, and tags placed outside <head> • Rendered vs raw HTML — an FYI when hreflang is injected client-side by JavaScript WHAT YOU GET • A 0–100 cluster health score • A prioritised, plain-English issue list — what's wrong, which page, and the exact code to fix it • A full cluster matrix showing every page × every language, exportable as PNG • CSV, JSON and Markdown exports — the Markdown report is perfect for pasting into an LLM or a client doc • Safe scan mode for rate-limited platforms like Shopify — throttled fetching with automatic retry HOW IT WORKS Open any page in the cluster and click the icon.
