HowdyPlan is a Chrome extension that turns CollegeScheduler into something that actually helps you register. Built by a fellow Aggie, free, no ads, no tracking. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Texas A&M University. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHAT IT DOES ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • Auto-generate your schedule — drop in your courses, hit "Find Best Schedule," and get conflict-free schedules ranked by professor quality, GPA averages, time-of-day preference, and day compactness. No more manual permutation-hunting on CollegeScheduler. • One-click add to cart — pick the schedule you like and HowdyPlan injects every section straight into your CollegeScheduler cart. Register as normal — no retyping CRNs. • Professor ratings on every section — Rate My Professors scores, difficulty, and "would take again" percentage appear next to each professor on the CollegeScheduler section list, color-coded: ★ Sweet Spot — high RMP + high GPA ✓ Good — solid in both ◆ Hidden Gem — strong grades, few RMP reviews ▲ Above Avg — better than most (plus Average, Below Avg, Trap, and Avoid for the rest) Click any badge for the full grade distribution and a direct RMP link. • GPA data — course-level GPA averages and A/B/D/F/Q percentages pulled from 107K+ registrar records (2015 onward), shown inline. • Blocked times — tell it "no mornings," "no Fridays," "lunch 12–1," or draw custom breaks on the grid (work, gym, lab, whatever). The optimizer respects them. • Themes — six built-in looks (Cute, Space, Cool, Aggie, Minimal) plus a Custom palette editor so you can match your vibe. Space ships with an animated starfield. Your choice syncs across devices. • Degree-aware — knows your major and completed courses, so "Add Courses" suggests what you actually still need for your degree plan. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ HOW TO USE IT ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 1. Install the extension. 2. Complete the one-time onboarding (email, major, completed courses, preferences). Takes about two minutes. 3. Open tamu.collegescheduler.com and sign in with TAMU SSO. 4. Click the extension icon and pick "Open side panel." 5. Add your target courses, set any blocked times, and hit "Find Best Schedule." 6. Click a schedule you like. "Add to Cart" injects it into CollegeScheduler; register as normal. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ PRIVACY & TRUST ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ HowdyPlan is run by one person (Enoch Poon, TAMU student) on a home server in Houston. There are no ads, no analytics, no selling data, no investor pressure. What's stored: your email, major, completed courses, preferences, and your CollegeScheduler session cookie (so the server can refresh live sections on your behalf). Everything lives in a PostgreSQL database that only the developer can reach. The developer retains this data for aggregate analysis and personal machine-learning research — never sold, never shared, never published with you identified. What's never stored or seen: your TAMU password, SSO credentials, browsing history, or any page outside CollegeScheduler. Delete your data any time: open the side panel, scroll to the bottom, click "Delete my data." One button. Everything wiped. Galveston / Qatar / remote students aren't supported. • Cart injection is best-effort. If CollegeScheduler changes their form markup, there may be a short window (usually under a week) where we fix it. • Your CollegeScheduler session cookie expires with your TAMU session — just visit CollegeScheduler to refresh it. • The extension is Unlisted, which means it's not searchable on the Chrome Web Store. Install only via the direct link shared with you. • This is a student project, maintained in my spare time. It's been stable for the group using it, but no uptime SLA — if the server is down during peak registration, please report a bug and be patient.
