Overview

Lock distracting sites for 1+ hours behind a calm countdown screen. Free, private, no account.

HourLock locks the sites that pull you away from your work, and keeps them locked. Every lock lasts at least one hour. Once a site is locked there is no unblock button, so a moment of weakness can't undo a decision you made with a clear head. A calm lock screen shows a countdown with the site's own icon, and when the time is up you get a short "You did it" and a button to open the site. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open the site you want to avoid and click HourLock. 2. Pick 1, 2, 4, 8 or 24 hours and tap Lock site. 3. Visit it later and you'll see the countdown instead. Optionally, turn on "Notify me when it unlocks". WHAT YOU GET - Free, with unlimited sites. No account, no ads, no upsell. - Whole-domain blocking, including subdomains. - A peaceful countdown screen, in light or dark mode. - An optional notification when a lock ends. - 100% private: your locks stay on your device. GOOD TO KNOW - HourLock removes its own unblock button; it can't stop you disabling or removing the extension in Chrome's extensions page, and doing that ends your locks. It also doesn't cover incognito unless you allow HourLock there. - To show its lock screen, HourLock asks once for access to sites. It uses this only for sites you choose to lock and never reads your pages. - When you lock a site, HourLock may fetch that site's own icon directly from it and saves it on your device. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else. Lock it. Stay with it.
