Overview
Exact screenshots of anything on a page. Nothing leaves your machine.
Hotshot captures exactly what you point at. Select a region, capture a full scrolling page, or hover over a webpage element to capture its exact bounds. Hotshot understands the structure of the page, so you can capture a card, chart, modal, table row, or other component without carefully drawing and correcting a box around it. Capture precisely - **Region capture:** drag a selection, then adjust it with handles or the keyboard. - **Element capture:** hover to snap to an element's exact bounds. Use the bracket keys to move between parent and child elements. - **Full-page capture:** capture and stitch a scrolling webpage into one PNG. - **Delayed capture:** wait 3, 5, or 10 seconds before capturing menus, hover states, and other temporary content. - **Keyboard shortcuts:** start the common capture modes without opening a menu. Mark it up without leaving the page Add arrows, lines, rectangles, ellipses, freehand marks, text, highlights, and automatically numbered step badges. Undo and redo are available throughout the editing flow. Hotshot's redaction tool replaces the selected pixels in the exported image. It is not a cosmetic blur that can be reversed to reveal the original content. Keep a reference visible Pin a capture over the current webpage while you fill in a form, compare a design, transcribe values, or write a report. Move the pin and adjust its visibility without switching repeatedly between windows. Copy, save, or send - Copy a capture directly to the clipboard. - Download a full-resolution PNG. - Keep recent captures in a local on-device library. - Send a capture directly to a Jira issue, Notion page, or ClickUp task after connecting that service with your own API token. - Optionally include useful page context such as the URL, title, viewport size, device-pixel ratio, timestamp, and user agent. Record short demonstrations Record a silent WebM video or create a short GIF using Chrome's own screen selection prompt. Recordings are processed locally and downloaded as files; Hotshot does not upload or host them. Privacy is part of the architecture Hotshot has no Hotshot-operated backend, account system, analytics service, or crash reporter. Captures and settings remain on your device unless you explicitly choose to send a capture to a connected third-party service. Integration tokens are stored in Chrome's local extension storage and are never placed in Chrome Sync. Host access for Jira, Notion, and ClickUp is optional and is requested only when you connect the corresponding service. Hotshot does not request permission to read every website continuously. It uses Chrome's temporary `activeTab` access when you explicitly invoke a capture. Important limitations - Hotshot captures browser content, not arbitrary native desktop applications. - Chrome prevents extensions from capturing `chrome://` pages, the Chrome Web Store, other extension pages, and Chrome's built-in PDF viewer. - Hotshot does not provide hosted images, public share links, cloud history, or team workspaces. - Video and GIF recording do not include microphone, camera, or system audio. - Direct integrations require a personal API token created in the relevant service.
