Overview

Add, change or remove HTTP request and response headers. No tracking, no data collection, open source. Imports ModHeader profiles.

Honest Headers lets you add, change or remove HTTP request and response headers - without giving up your privacy. Built as a clean, trustworthy alternative after ModHeader was removed from the Chrome Web Store. WHAT YOU CAN DO Add, overwrite or remove request headers (Authorization, User-Agent, Cookie, custom X- headers) Add, overwrite or remove response headers (CORS, Content-Security-Policy, X-Frame-Options) Leave a value empty to remove that header Keep several profiles (Staging, Local dev, QA) and switch in one click Apply rules only to matching URLs with regex URL filters Pause everything with one switch; the badge shows how many headers are active Import your ModHeader JSON exports, and back up or restore your own profiles English and Japanese interface, light and dark mode PRIVACY, FOR REAL No data collection, no analytics, no ads The extension makes no network requests of its own and loads no remote code No content scripts: it never reads the pages you visit It only uses Chrome's built-in declarativeNetRequest rules Your profiles stay in your browser Source code is public and MIT-licensed: github.com/keiinoue0612-droid/honest-headers SAFE BY DESIGN Invalid header names are flagged right away and never applied If a URL filter pattern is broken, nothing is applied until you fix it (a red "!" appears on the icon) Imported profiles are never switched on automatically MOVING FROM MODHEADER In ModHeader, open the profile menu and choose Export (save the JSON file). In Honest Headers, click "Import / Export" and choose that file. Pick the imported profile in the popup. Some ModHeader-only features (exclude filters, cookie rules, tab filters) are not supported yet - you will be told if any were skipped. Honest Headers is not affiliated with ModHeader.
