Homebuyer Scout helps you compare homes by turning a home address into practical location and monthly cost context. Enter a home address, save the places that matter to you, and quickly see straight-line distances to work, school, family, parks, transit stops, or other destinations. Homebuyer Scout also lets you save home searches and compare two saved homes side by side using locally stored snapshots. Estimate monthly home costs before you tour. Break down mortgage, property taxes, insurance, HOA, utilities, and PMI, then review editable loan details and a month-by-month loan schedule. When comparing saved homes, Homebuyer Scout can show which home has the lower estimated monthly cost and which categories drive the difference. The extension uses public data sources for address analysis. It can geocode addresses with the U.S. Census Geocoder, recover some ZIP-based Plus Codes with Census TIGERweb, and show FEMA National Flood Hazard Layer flood-zone details for a home location. Route and map buttons open user-initiated Google Maps and FEMA Map Service Center pages. Homebuyer Scout is designed for privacy-conscious home research. Saved homes, destinations, selected tabs, comparison choices, and monthly cost assumptions are stored locally in your browser extension storage. The extension does not include analytics, ads, scraping, or remote executable code. Monthly cost estimates are informational only.
