)Overview
Keep your Home Assistant dashboard in Chrome’s side panel. Control your home while you browse, using your own instance.
Your home, right beside you. Home Assistant Panel keeps your existing Home Assistant dashboard in Chrome’s side panel, alongside the page you’re browsing. Check a sensor, adjust a light or use your usual dashboard without switching tabs. YOUR DASHBOARD, CLOSE AT HAND • Connect to your own Home Assistant instance. • Open a specific dashboard by saving its full URL. • Keep the panel beside your browser tabs. • Reload the dashboard, open it in a tab or change its address from the panel toolbar. • Set up your address in a clean settings page that follows your system’s light or dark theme. GETTING STARTED 1. Install Home Assistant Panel and open it from Chrome’s Extensions menu. Pin it for easy access. 2. Choose “Set up your dashboard” and enter the full address of your Home Assistant instance or dashboard. 3. Save the address, reopen the panel and sign in to Home Assistant. You need an existing Home Assistant instance that your browser can reach. Home Assistant must allow its dashboard to be embedded in a frame. The settings page links to Home Assistant’s documentation and explains this requirement. Changing its use_x_frame_options setting reduces protection against clickjacking, so review that guidance before changing your server configuration. YOUR INSTANCE. YOUR SIGN-IN. The extension saves your dashboard URL in Chrome sync storage. It does not collect analytics or send your dashboard address to the developer. You sign in directly to Home Assistant; the extension does not store your Home Assistant password. Your Home Assistant instance handles the dashboard and its data. This is an independent extension by Tom Roberts. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Home Assistant project. The example dashboard in the store images comes from Home Assistant’s public demo; your dashboard’s appearance depends on your own configuration. WHAT’S NEW IN 1.1.0 • Redesigned setup and first-run screens, with light and dark themes. • Clearer validation, save confirmation and connection help. • Dashboard paths are preserved when reopening settings. • A compact toolbar for reloading, opening a tab and changing settings. • Existing saved addresses are retained. No additional permissions.
