Holy Private Bookmarks is a bookmark manager with AES-256-GCM encryption and master password protection. All your bookmarks are stored locally on your device — the extension never connects to external servers, never collects analytics, and has no subscription fees. Why use it instead of Chrome's built-in bookmarks? Chrome's default bookmarks are synced to Google's servers and visible to anyone who opens your browser. Holy Private Bookmarks keeps a completely separate, encrypted vault — locked behind a master password that only you know. If you forget the password, there is no recovery option, and that's intentional. The history permission is used only when you manually trigger "Clear History" — it never reads or logs your browsing history in the background. The bookmarks permission is used only for the Chrome import feature. There is no password reset. Your bookmarks are encrypted exclusively with the password you set during setup.
