Echo Captions is a video translation and subtitle translation extension for YouTube, Twitch, Kick and Crunchyroll. No setup after install: open a YouTube video and translated captions appear by themselves. Real-time AI speech recognition listens, translates what is said and renders clean translated subtitles right on top of the video — watch any video or live stream in your own language. Echo Captions does it by itself. AFTER INSTALLING 1. Add the extension — a short welcome page and demo video let you try it in seconds. 2. Open any YouTube video — translated captions start by themselves. No clicks, no setup. Echo picks the language you read from your browser's language settings, and the first translated line lets you switch with one click if it guessed wrong. 3. The Echo button in the player turns captions on and off anytime. On live streams (YouTube Live, Twitch, Kick) and Crunchyroll, one click on the Echo button starts translation. LANGUAGE & MODEL SETTINGS Echo picks the target language from your browser's language preferences — not from the language Chrome's menus happen to be in. The first translated line shows which language it picked, with a one-click switch right on the video; you can also change it anytime from the popup or the Echo panel in the player. Toggle auto-translate with one switch, and on supported plans manage the translation model and live caption settings. WHAT'S NEW IN 2.4.3 • 77 target languages instead of 14 — Polish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, Greek, Czech, Swedish, Hebrew, Persian, Bengali, Tamil and many more, plus Traditional Chinese and European Portuguese as separate options. • Captions follow the language you read (your browser's language preferences), not the language Chrome's interface is in. • A small card on the first translated line shows which language Echo chose, with a one-click switch. Once you pick a language, Echo never changes it on its own. • A video that is already in your language now says so instead of staying silent.
