Faino keeps field notes of your reading on the web. It sits in Chrome's side panel while you read and remembers how one source led to the next, and why. Reading online rarely goes in a straight line. An article cites a paper, the paper mentions a book, a video sends you somewhere else. Faino lets you add the steps that matter, with the line that caught you and the reason you followed it. The steps join into a path you can come back to and continue. What you can do: • Add a step: select a sentence to keep as a quote, say why you came here (Inspiration, Understand, Evidence or Compare) and pick a few concepts. Nothing is saved until you click Add. • See where you came from: each step hangs from the page that led to it, as a list and as a path map. • Explore later: keep a lead without losing your place, then continue from any step. • Read anywhere on the web: articles, blogs, social posts, online PDFs and videos. Posts are titled by who wrote them; papers get their author, year and DOI. • Keep what a picture or a video says: text in images and scanned PDFs is read on your device, and adding a moment in a video keeps its captions. • Export to Markdown, Word, Obsidian, Zotero or EndNote, or make a full backup.
