EmoVeil - Hide faces, keep the expressions

Replaces faces in web images and videos (YouTube, etc.) with avatars or emoji that follow expressions. Blur too. Runs on-device.

Hide the face. Keep the expression. EmoVeil finds the faces of people in photos and videos on web pages and replaces them with simple drawings or emoji that move with their expressions. You can no longer tell who it is, but you can still see that they are laughing, surprised or focused. ■ What it does • Replaces faces in article photos, social media images and videos such as YouTube, automatically • Reads blinks, smiles, mouth opening, brow movement and head tilt, and mirrors them • Three ways to replace a face – Avatar: a simple face that follows the expression, in a different color for each person – Emoji: switches between 🙂😄😆😮 and more to match the expression – Animals: a different animal for each person (rabbit, bear, cat, panda and more). The cat follows expressions too • Or just hide faces with blur, pixelate or fill • Follows faces in playing videos. Until a picture has been checked, the whole picture stays blurred, so faces never flash into view ■ Handy features • Hold Alt (Option on Mac) and hover over a face to show just that face • Turn it on or off per site, or pause the current tab for 10 minutes • Shortcuts: Alt+Shift+F turns everything on/off, Alt+Shift+S pauses the current tab (you can change them) ■ Privacy Face detection and expression reading run entirely on your computer, using models bundled with the extension (Google MediaPipe). Images, videos and browsing history are never sent anywhere or stored. Faces are never identified.
