Auto History Wipe clears your browsing history, cache, cookies and downloads automatically — when Chrome starts, on a schedule you choose, or with a single click. IT CANNOT SEE WHAT YOU BROWSE Most privacy extensions ask you to trust them. This one asks you to check. Open the permission list before you install: there are no site access permissions there at all. Auto History Wipe never requests access to the websites you visit, so it cannot read them. It has no servers to talk to, no account to create, and no analytics, telemetry or tracking code of any kind. Every setting stays in your own browser. Nothing is cleared that you did not tick. DEEP CLEAN Chrome protects some of its own sites, such as Google and YouTube, from normal clearing. Deep Clean reaches those too. It is off by default and clearly labelled, because it is the setting most likely to sign you out of things you use every day. Turn it on when you want a genuinely complete wipe, leave it off for daily use. WHO IT IS FOR A shared family computer, where the next person should not inherit your history. A work laptop you would rather keep separate from your personal browsing. A machine that is running out of disk space and needs the cache gone regularly. Or simply the preference that your browser should not keep a permanent record of everywhere you have been. GETTING STARTED Install it, pin it to the toolbar, and open the options page. Pick a preset — Quick, Standard or Deep — and decide whether to clean on startup, on a schedule, or only when you press the button. That is the whole setup. If you want to keep certain sites signed in, add them to the whitelist or switch on bookmark protection before the first clean. GOOD TO KNOW Your bookmarks are never deleted. Clearing history can temporarily reset the small icons next to your bookmarks until you revisit a site — that is standard Chrome behaviour and affects every history cleaner. Search suggestions saved to your Google account are stored on Google's servers and cannot be removed by any browser extension. You can manage those at myactivity.google.com. Clearing cookies signs you out of websites. On a shared computer that is usually the point — and if you would rather stay signed in to certain sites, add them to the whitelist or turn on bookmark protection. SET IT ONCE Choose what to clear and when, then let it run.
