StylePatch — Custom Website Appearance & Theme Modifier Read the web the way your eyes want it. StylePatch restyles any website in seconds — background, text and link colour, font family, font size and reading filters — applied live to the page in front of you, saved per website, and restored automatically every time you come back. No account. No sign-up. No tracking. Open a site, click the icon, adjust, done. WHY STYLEPATCH Not every site is designed for comfortable reading: blinding white at midnight, small grey text on a slightly different grey, columns squeezed into a narrow strip, a typeface you can't stand. Because every site is built differently, one global "dark mode" switch never really fits. StylePatch works per website instead — fix the handful of sites you actually read, and leave everything else exactly as it is. It also holds up where other appearance extensions give up. The CSS is injected from the extension's isolated world and web fonts are embedded as data, so your styling still lands on sites that use a strict Content-Security-Policy to block outside styles and fonts. And it only rewrites colour, type and scale: images, videos, canvases, form fields and buttons keep their own design, so layouts don't collapse. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open a website and click the StylePatch icon. 2. Adjust colours, font, size or a filter. The page updates as you drag, pick or type — no reload. 3. Click "Apply & Save". From then on that site opens in exactly that look. FREE — THE WHOLE BASE TOOL, NOT A TRIAL Everything in this section is free permanently: no licence, no daily cap, no feature held back. COLOURS Any background and text colour, from the native picker or a typed hex value. Link colour is derived from your background (or from the preset) so links never become unreadable, and a contrast hint warns you when a combination falls below the usual readability thresholds. FONT SIZE One slider scales a page from 80% to 150%. The whole page is scaled, so sites that hard-code tiny pixel sizes are covered as well. FONT FAMILY Fourteen typefaces: system and common desktop fonts plus six web fonts fetched on demand, with CJK coverage. Code blocks and icon fonts are deliberately left alone, so code stays monospaced and icons never turn into empty boxes. READING FILTERS Grayscale for busy pages, a warm tint for long evening sessions. PRESET THEMES Seven one-click looks: light, warm paper, muted green, dark, sepia, night blue and a high-contrast black-and-white scheme. Each preset brings its own link colour. PER-SITE MEMORY Every site keeps its own style, re-applied automatically on load. Five sites are remembered for free; past that, styles still apply instantly anywhere, and remembering the extra ones is what Premium adds. SITE EXCLUSION Skip the sites you don't want touched. Excluded domains are never modified. GLOBAL SWITCH Turn StylePatch off everywhere with one toggle, without losing a single setting. RESET Drop a site's config in one click. If you have a default theme, the site falls back to it instead of its original look. CONFIG MANAGER A full options page: every configured site with its colour swatches and font size, a search box to find one quickly, and one-click delete. LOCAL BACKUP Export every site config, your exclusion list and the on/off state as one readable JSON file, and import it on another computer. Free imports restore up to five sites. LIVE PREVIEW Nothing to confirm: changes land on the page while you drag, pick or type. SELF-REPAIRING If a site strips the injected stylesheet, StylePatch puts it back on its own. An optional licence adds what a per-site tool cannot do on its own: UNLIMITED SITES Remember styles for as many websites as you like. DEFAULT THEME Save the look you are using as the default for every site that has no config of its own. Sites you styled keep their own colours, everything else inherits your theme, and Reset returns to it rather than to the original page. CLOUD SYNC Keep site configs, the exclusion list, the on/off switch and your default theme in step across every Chrome or Edge profile signed in to the same account. Conflicts resolve to the most recent edit, and deletions travel too, so a device that was offline won't bring back a config you removed. Sync runs through your browser's own sync storage — StylePatch has no server holding your settings. One switch turns it off; one button deletes the cloud copy and leaves local configs untouched. FULL RESTORE Import a backup of any size, including the default theme. ACTIVATION Enter the key in the Config Manager. Your status (Free or Premium) is shown in the popup header, and a licence can be removed from the device at any time. PRIVACY • No tracking, no analytics, no advertising, no access to your browsing history. • StylePatch never reads page text, images, cookies, form input or login credentials. It only writes CSS. • Settings live in your browser's extension storage. They are not uploaded anywhere. • Data leaves your device in exactly three situations: when you pick a web font (the font file is downloaded from fonts.googleapis.com), when you activate or verify a licence (checked against api.annmax1983.com), and when you switch Cloud Sync on (written to your own browser account, not to us). • No background phoning home, no timers, no scheduled network calls. A licensed copy re-checks its key only when you open the popup or the Config Manager, at most once every two hours, and keeps working offline when the server cannot be reached. A copy without a licence never contacts the licence server at all. • Activation sends your key, a random installation identifier and basic browser information, purely to bind and verify the key. It is not used for tracking, advertising or profiling. PERMISSIONS, EXPLAINED • storage — saves your colours, fonts, exclusions and preferences on your own machine, and carries the optional cloud sync. • scripting — injects the CSS rules that restyle the page you are viewing. • Website access — required to apply your style to the page in front of you. That is the complete list: no tabs, cookies, history, downloads or clipboard access. COMPATIBILITY • Google Chrome 95+ and Microsoft Edge 95+ fully supported • Other Chromium-based browsers: basic compatibility • Manifest V3, plain JavaScript — no frameworks, no bundlers, no remote code GOOD TO KNOW • Styles belong to a domain, and www.example.com is treated as the same site as example.com, so settings follow you between both addresses. • Two appearance extensions can fight over the same page — disable the other one if a site resists. • Pages that hard-code their look with inline styles keep some elements unstyled; that is how CSS overriding works, not a bug. • Browser-internal pages (chrome://, the Web Store, other extensions' pages) cannot be modified by any extension. • Browser sync storage has a quota. If it fills up, StylePatch reports it in the Config Manager instead of silently dropping configs.
