Drawover

Frame-step and draw over web videos (YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, LinkedIn) without downloading them.

Study animation straight from the web. Drawover lets you step through any web video one frame at a time and draw over individual frames, with no downloading, no screen recording and no re-uploading to another tool. Found a shot you love on a video site or in a social feed? Open Drawover, step to the frame you care about, and trace arcs, mark spacing, check poses and annotate timing right on top of the video. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Frame-by-frame stepping: move one frame at a time with the arrow keys, or ten at a time with Shift. A frame counter and scrubber show exactly where you are. • Draw on any frame: a smooth pen with pressure support for drawing tablets, an eraser, colour swatches, a custom colour picker and adjustable brush size. • Onion skinning: see your drawings from the previous two frames in red and the next frame in green, so you can follow arcs and spacing through a motion. • Slow motion: play at 0.1x to 2x speed, and pause anywhere to draw. • Drawings that stay put: your work is saved per video and comes back the next time you open it. Yellow ticks under the scrubber show which frames have drawings. • Export a frame: save the current frame as a PNG with your drawing on top. • Undo and redo, per frame. BUILT FOR REAL STUDY SESSIONS • Automatic frame rate detection (24, 25, 30, 60 and more), with a manual override if a video needs it. • Drawings are stored as lightweight vectors, so they stay sharp when you resize the window, go fullscreen or change the player size. • One-key switch between drawing mode and the site's own controls, so you can still scrub and adjust volume. • A toolbar
