Upload Rescue

Fix oversized images, supported PDFs, and macOS HEIC locally before upload—without sending file contents to us.

Upload Rescue prepares supported files locally in Chrome before you upload them to a website. The extension reads only files you explicitly select and keeps their content, outputs, history, and processing records in browser-managed local storage. It does not send image or PDF content to Upload Rescue, Cloudflare, or Polar. Only user-initiated Pro activation or Verify sends license authentication data to the dedicated license service over HTTPS. IMAGE PREPARATION - Compress static JPG, PNG, and WebP images toward a selected Target size. - Convert between JPG, PNG, and WebP while keeping the original dimensions. - Use 500 KB, 1 MB, 2 MB, or 5 MB presets, or enter a custom Target from 10 KB through 100 MB. - Private image metadata is removed by default. For compatible JPG-to-JPG output, users may retain an allowlist of camera, exposure, and optics fields; GPS, serials, notes, thumbnails, unknown fields, and editing history remain removed. - On macOS, convert a supported HEIC or HEIF primary image to JPG, PNG, or WebP within the accepted local safety envelope. - Windows v0.5 does not support HEIC or HEIF. JPG, PNG, WebP, and PDF features remain available on Windows. SAFE PDF COMPRESSION - Compress supported PDFs without converting whole pages to images. - Preserve selectable text, vectors, page geometry, links, fonts, annotations, and supported static form fields when validation passes. - Reject encrypted, signed, damaged, or otherwise unsupported PDFs, including documents with embedded files or unsupported dynamic content. - A PDF result is offered only when it passes local validation and is meaningfully smaller. ADVANCED PDF FOR LIFETIME PRO - Set a Target for a supported PDF whose eligible raster image resources pass the calibrated safety rules. - Recompress only eligible image resources while keeping supported text, vectors, links, fonts, annotations, and static form fields as PDF content. - Validate every candidate locally before offering it. - Advanced PDF is best effort. It does not rasterize whole pages, run OCR, or guarantee an arbitrary Target size. REUSABLE LOCAL RESULTS - Download committed outputs under Downloads/Upload Rescue/. - Keep reusable results in clearable browser-managed local history. - Download again, delete one result, or clear all results. - Local history is a convenience, not a permanent backup. Chrome may remove local browser storage under quota or device pressure. FREE AND LIFETIME PRO - Free includes 10 committed local operations per local calendar day and up to 20 reusable results or 200 MiB. - Lifetime Pro is a one-time US$19 purchase with unlimited successful operations, Advanced PDF Targets for eligible documents, sequential JPG/PNG/WebP batch processing, saved presets, and up to 100 reusable results or 1 GiB. - Batch creates individual files in the Upload Rescue download folder. It does not create a ZIP. LIMITS Upload Rescue does not guarantee a Target for every file, support every HEIC variant or PDF, access website content, auto-fill upload fields, submit forms, or guarantee acceptance by another website. HEIC/HEIF is macOS-only in v0.5. Keep original copies of important files.
