Gmail character counter

Really useful as I use an SMS bridge via Gmail and this helps me to limit the number of characters to 160. The only niggle is that, when replying to an email, the three little dots at the bottom left of the email window no longer appear, so I cant easily view the chain of emails below. The workaround is simply Ctrl+A, which highlights the whole message and makes the rest of the conversation appear.
