Prompt Chains saves your AI prompts in the order you actually use them so a prompt you reuse shows up as a continuous thread instead of getting lost in a flat, unordered list. Most prompt managers give you a pile of saved snippets. Prompt Chains keeps the sequence: the follow-up you asked after your first prompt stays linked to it, and you can copy any single step or the whole chain in one click. HOW IT WORKS • Paste or type a prompt and click Save. • Prompts you save close together automatically link into one thread shown as a simple connecting line with dots. Teal means it continues the chain; coral means it starts a new one. • Uncheck "Continue the chain" any time you want to start fresh. • Open a thread to see every step numbered, copy any single prompt, or copy the whole thread at once. YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE Prompt Chains is fully local. Every prompt is stored with Chrome's built-in local storage (chrome.storage.local) on your own computer. Nothing is ever sent to any server. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no cloud sync, no analytics, and no tracking. The extension works completely offline. The only permission that touches a webpage is reading the current tab's hostname (e.g. "chatgpt.com") to label where a prompt was saved no page content is ever read, and even that never leaves your browser. Uninstalling the extension or clearing the data removes your saved prompts. Use "Export all" first if you want a backup.
