Hive Scrobbler
Overview
Track every song, video, episode, and podcast you play across the web. Your listening history, in one place, free forever.
Hive Scrobbler quietly logs what you actually listen to and watch — across every site you already use — and saves it as one timeline that belongs to you. WHY YOU'LL WANT IT • One history, every platform. Music, videos and podcasts from the apps you already use — all gathered into a single log. • Real listening only. A play has to cross ~60% (music) or ~80% (video) before it counts. Skipped songs and half-watched episodes don't pollute your stats. • Yours to keep. Saved to a public ledger, not a streaming service's marketing database. Export it, share it, or just have it — your history doesn't disappear when a service changes its terms. • No ads, no analytics, no telemetry. The extension never sends anything to a server we control. • Free, forever. No subscription, no premium tier, no upsell. HOW IT WORKS 1. Install Hive Scrobbler. 2. Click the toolbar icon and connect your account. Initial login is via Hive Keychain (a small companion extension); more login methods are coming. 3. Play music or video as normal. Eligible plays save automatically. That's it. No queue to babysit, nothing to set up site-by-site. SUPPORTED PLATFORMS Music streaming, video and TV, and podcasts are all covered — including widely used services such as Spotify, YouTube, Netflix and Prime Video, among many others. Everyday YouTube videos (vlogs, comedy, news) can also be logged once you switch that on in settings. VIEW YOUR HISTORY scrobble.life — your full timeline at /u/<your-username>. Music, movies, TV, and podcasts each have their own tab. PRIVACY The extension never sends data to a server we control. Saves go directly from your browser to the storage layer, signed locally — we never see your account keys. Each save is a public entry on the storage ledger today. Privacy modes (private and friends-only history) are on the roadmap. OPEN SOURCE Forked from Web Scrobbler (MIT licensed) with the persistent storage layer added. Source: https://github.com/Holozing1/hivescrobble REQUIRES A free account on the storage backend — sign up at https://signup.hive.io. Authentication is currently via Hive Keychain (https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/hive-keychain/jcacnejopjdphbnjgfaaobbfafkihpep); additional login methods are coming. Changes vs the version you have: - Punchier opener ("logs" instead of "tracks", "belongs to you" instead of "you own") - "Skipped songs and half-watched episodes don't pollute your stats" replaces the more abstract "real listening, not what's in your library" - HOW IT WORKS cut from 4 steps to 3 (the toolbar-click and the connect step were redundant); softer login wording - "SUPPORTED PLATFORMS" replaces "WHAT IT TRACKS" (cleaner) - "VIEW YOUR HISTORY" replaces "WHERE TO SEE YOUR HISTORY" (tighter) - Privacy section reads cleaner; doesn't name-drop Keychain in the privacy hero
