Hill Chart for GitHub
Overview
Add Basecamp-style Hill Charts to GitHub issues
Hill Chart for GitHub adds interactive hill charts directly to GitHub issue pages — the same concept Basecamp popularized for visualizing project progress at a glance. How it works The left side of the hill represents "figuring things out" — research, uncertainty, and design. The right side represents "making it happen" — execution and known work. You add named points and drag them along the curve to show where each piece of work stands. Open any GitHub issue and click the Hill Chart button in the issue toolbar Add points for tasks or workstreams Drag them along the hill to show progress Click "Paste to comment" — the chart is encoded into the comment form, ready to submit Where data lives Chart data is stored inside a regular GitHub issue comment. Nothing leaves GitHub — no external servers, no API tokens, no accounts. The data travels with the issue itself, and anyone with the extension installed can see and edit it. Features Drag-and-drop points along the hill curve Charts render inline in issue comments for anyone with the extension Copy chart data to clipboard for sharing Works on any GitHub repository (public or private) No data collection — everything stays in your GitHub issues Lightweight, runs only on github.com Source code This extension is open source: https://github.com/martinlutter/hill-chart
