Hilitr
Overview
Click-drag to highlight a region, zoom in, and black out the rest. Perfect for presenting in Google Meet.
Hilitr helps you direct attention while you present. Press ⌘E (Mac) or Ctrl+E (Windows/Linux) — or click the toolbar icon — then drag a rectangle over anything on the page. Hilitr zooms that region to fill the window and blacks out everything else, so whoever you're screen sharing with sees exactly the part you're talking about. Click anywhere or hit Esc to return. Perfect for Google Meet, Zoom, Teams, demos, code walkthroughs, design reviews, and teaching. Why you'll like it: • One shortcut. Drag. Done. • Works on any page — docs, dashboards, code, slides, PDFs in the browser. • Zooms the selected region to fill your screen for maximum legibility. • Blacks out the rest so nothing distracts your audience. • 100% local and private — nothing is uploaded, stored, or tracked. No network access. • Tiny and fast. Manifest V3. How to use: 1. Trigger selection: press ⌘E / Ctrl+E, or click the Hilitr icon. 2. Click-drag a rectangle around what you want to highlight. 3. Release — the region fills the screen, everything else goes black. 4. Click or press Esc to dismiss. Hilitr never sends your data anywhere. The screenshot it takes to build the zoom overlay stays in your browser and is discarded the moment you dismiss it. See the privacy policy for details. Open source: https://github.com/kpeluso/hilitr
