Overview

Highlight multiple words and keywords on any page: a highlighter extension that counts matches per tab.

Highlight multiple words and keywords on any page, all at once. You type or paste a list of terms, switch it on, and the whole page gets highlighted in one pass instead of one word at a time. One thing to get straight before you install: you don't drag over text to colour it, and there are no notes or annotations. This highlighter extension keeps a keyword list and finds every term wherever it shows up. If you want a manual marker pen for the web, this is the wrong tool, and it's better to know that now. ⚡ what the highlighter extension does 🔹 up to 50 keywords in one list, all highlighted in the same pass 🔹 a match count on the toolbar icon, per tab, before you open anything 🔹 exact matches on demand: Match case and Whole word 🚀 the first thirty seconds 1️⃣ install the highlighter extension and pin its icon 2️⃣ open the popup, paste your keywords one per line 3️⃣ tick Highlight, and the page lights up 4️⃣ jump between hits from the popup list or the keyboard ⌨️ shortcuts Ctrl+Shift+F opens the popup, turns highlighting on and drops the cursor into the keyword list; Ctrl+Shift+K goes to the next match, Ctrl+Shift+H to the previous one. On macOS all three use Control. Rebind them at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. 🎚️ exact matches, when you want them Two popup checkboxes, both off by default: nothing changes until you tick one. Match case: "AI" no longer matches "ai", "Ai" or the "ai" inside "said". Whole word: "Java" stops lighting up inside "JavaScript". 🌍 Whole word works in any alphabet: Latin, accented letters, Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic, Hebrew, Korean. Chinese, Japanese and Thai word edges aren't checked, so a Chinese term still matches inside a longer Chinese run, while "Java" beside Chinese characters still counts as a whole word. Both settings are global, survive a restart and apply to every tab and frame at once, no reload. With Match case off, listing both "Java" and "java" counts each match once. 🧩 it doesn't break the page Most such tools wrap every match in an extra element, which shifts the layout, upsets React and Vue apps and turns long pages to treacle. This keyword highlighter paints through the browser's own CSS Custom Highlight API, so the page keeps its own markup. 🔧 that is why the highlight extension survives dashboards, web mail and single-page apps. 🔎 ten tabs of search results, CVs or vendor docs? The badge shows which carry your keywords and how often, so you close the empty ones unread. 📚 the text that hides Long docs and FAQs keep half their content folded away. Tick Show hidden and matches in hidden text are counted and listed too. One click on a match takes you there: the page scrolls straight to it, and a section the browser itself folds (the kind Ctrl+F opens) opens the same way. 🔦 text the site hides itself, like its tabs or "read more" blocks, is never opened for you: the page scrolls to the visible block around it and makes it glow. A match in a dropdown scrolls to the dropdown, which is never opened or changed. 👥 who keeps this highlighter installed 🔹 recruiters who highlight a shortlist of tool names across fifty profiles 🔹 engineers chasing error codes through logs and stack traces 🔹 analysts, students and lawyers reading long documents for specific names 🔹 anyone who has pressed Ctrl+F six times on the same page 🔒 privacy, briefly This keyword highlighter runs locally: your keywords stay in your browser's local storage. The extension itself sends nothing: no network requests, no account, no sync, no analytics. If you click its rating link, our website counts that click, with a few rough usage ranges such as how many days you used it, before taking you to the store. Never your keywords or pages. Delete the list and it's gone. 🧭 where this keyword highlighter stops 🔹 one keyword list, shared by every site, in one highlight colour 🔹 the popup interface is in English for now 📄 Chrome's PDF viewer and Google Docs draw text on a canvas, and no extension can highlight pixels. 💡 two things worth knowing Phrases beat single syllables, because short keywords turn a page into confetti. And if part of a page stays unhighlighted, reload the tab once: some sites keep building content after the page says it's finished. 🛠️ Where this highlighter for websites runs Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera and the other Chromium browsers, on Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS. Frames and embedded documents are searched too, so a page built from several sources gives one list of matches. 📬 no options screen to learn, no onboarding to sit through: the popup is the whole of this highlight tool, a keyword list and a few checkboxes.
