Highlight
Overview
Highlight web pages and PDFs manually, with AI, or securely paired agents. Organise quotes, add comments, and share live links.
Highlight any page. Share what you read. Highlight is a clean browser extension for saving, organising, and sharing useful passages from articles, documentation, research pages, PDFs, and other reference material. Select text on any supported page, choose a colour, and Highlight saves it for later. Key features: - Highlight selected text with a custom colour palette - Re-colour, edit, or remove highlights without leaving the page - Add notes, tags, and folders to organise your research - Browse every saved passage in one searchable library - Filter highlights by folder, source, domain, or search term - Export selected highlights as plain text, Markdown, JSON, or CSV - Draw on pages with pen, line, and rectangle tools - Read and highlight selectable PDFs in the built-in PDF viewer - Create live sharing links for a page’s highlights - Add passwords and expiry dates to shared galleries - Let recipients read shared highlights in a clean gallery or reopen them on the original page - Customise highlight colours in Design Studio - Connect ChatGPT or another MCP-compatible AI agent using secure OAuth pairing - Ask a connected agent to read an open page or PDF, create exact highlights, add notes and tags, organise folders, compare sources, export research, or return a finished sharing link - Reverse supported agent changes using operation history Highlight includes 24 focused MCP tools for browser and research workflows. Pairing uses a short-lived, one-time code generated by the extension. Your private browser connection token is never entered into ChatGPT or shared with the agent. Highlight is local-first. Your highlights, drawings, folders, notes, colour palette, and sharing history are stored in your browser by default. There are no Highlight accounts, no advertisements, and no behavioural tracking. Data leaves your browser only when you deliberately use an optional AI or agent feature, copy or export content, create a sharing link, or post a comment on a shared gallery. Agent connections can access or change content only through the tools you enable and the requests you make. Highlight is useful for research, studying, writing, product work, collecting quotations, reviewing long documents, organising evidence, and sharing source-backed notes.
