HID 2D Scan Code Parser
ExtensionTools2 users
Overview
This extension parses 2D code value on a custom defined element and regex rules.
Hardware barcode scanners typically mimic human keyboards but type characters at superhuman speeds. This script intercepts rapid keystrokes, differentiates them from manual human typing using a millisecond-threshold timeout, blocks the default browser behavior if a legitimate scan is detected, and parses the data using configurable Regular Expressions stored in chrome.storage.local. Once parsed, it automatically populates the active web input field and dispatches native events to ensure compatibility with modern front end frameworks (like React, Vue, or Angular).
