Hide YouTube's related videos, Shorts, thumbnails, comments, and new-video badges so you stop getting hooked.

Unbait removes the parts of YouTube that pull you into the next click, so you watch what you came for and then leave. Every feature is a toggle, your choices are saved locally in your browser, and nothing is ever sent anywhere. WATCH PAGE • Related videos — remove the right-hand suggestions column, and switch the player to theater mode so the video uses the freed space. • Comments — hide the comments section. • Description — hide the description box (view count, date, description). • Buttons — hide the Subscribe button, the Gemini "Ask" button, the like / dislike buttons, and the membership "Join" button. • Video ads — while an ad plays, show a blank screen instead of it. The skip and visit-site buttons stay visible. FEEDS • Shorts — remove Shorts shelves and navigation across YouTube, including the Shorts grid on the search-results page. • Compact lists — rebuild the home, subscriptions, search-results, and channel feeds as tidy lists with small thumbnails instead of big clickbait cards. Each feed is its own toggle. • Thumbnails — blank out video thumbnails in the home feed or on channel pages (separate toggles). • Feed chips — hide the filter chips you uncheck in the row above the feed (the "All / News / Gaming" bar). EVERYWHERE • Notifications button — remove the bell button in the top-right corner. • New-video badges — remove the blue "new content" dots on subscription channels. • More from YouTube — hide the "More from YouTube" section (Music, Kids) in the left sidebar. • Channel extras — hide the channel members shelf, the membership "Join" button, and the notification bell next to a subscribed channel. TIDY SUBSCRIPTIONS On the subscriptions page, Unbait can suggest channels worth unsubscribing from — the ones you are subscribed to but have not watched within a window you choose (two weeks by default). Each suggestion can be ignored for good or snoozed for later. Engagement is tracked only on your device, and Unbait never unsubscribes for you: it just links to YouTube's own subscription manager. LIVE CHAT When you can't send messages in a live chat (timeout, ban, members-only, or disabled chat), Unbait shows a banner with YouTube's own reason instead of leaving you to guess. PANEL The toolbar icon opens a side panel with the toggles for the screen you are on, the number of active filters, and a running "bait avoided" count. Assign a key to open it from your browser's extension-shortcuts page. LANGUAGE English, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese — or follow your browser. PRIVACY Unbait requests only the "storage" and "sidePanel" permissions. It makes no network requests, contains no analytics, and collects no data.
