Overview

Reads a site's terms, privacy and cookie policies for you and lists the catches, with the exact clause one click away.

Nobody reads the fine print. Terms Scanner does. Open the side panel on any website and click Scan. The scanner finds the site's terms of service, privacy policy and cookie policy, follows the documents they reference, and reads all of them. Then it gives you five or six plain-English bullets on what actually matters: auto-renewals, refund limits, arbitration clauses, data sharing, licences over your content, termination rights. Every bullet is backed by a verbatim quote from the document, verified word for word, and a "See clause" link that jumps straight to that sentence on the source page. No paraphrasing you have to take on trust. It also reads the cookie-consent banner exactly as you see it, including which categories are switched on by default and whether "reject all" is really offered. Then ask follow-up questions. "Can I cancel and get a refund?" "Who do they share my data with?" Answers come only from the documents, with the source named. How it works • Click Scan. The scanner opens the site's front page in a background tab of its own, finds the legal links in the footer, and closes the tab when it's done. Your tab is never touched. • It reads pages using your own browser session, so it works on sites that only show terms after login. • A triage step decides which cross-referenced pages are relevant, so help articles and translations don't clutter the result. • Reading and summarising run on hosted AI models. Only the legal text is sent; nothing else from the page. What it doesn't do • No account, no tracking, no analytics. • No browsing history. It acts only on the tab where you click Scan, only when you click. • Not legal advice. It reads and explains; you decide.
