Herdr connects supported Web AI conversations to your local Herdr workspaces. OPEN YOUR LOCAL WORKSITE FROM THE BROWSER • Use the Chrome Side Panel Control Center to see live workspaces, panes, and agents. • Bind the current browser conversation to the right Herdr workspace. • Pin an explicit local target and send trusted local Agent prompts through Native Messaging. KEEP LONG CONVERSATIONS MOVING • Monitor long-conversation pressure with bounded state rather than unbounded browser history. • Queue a clear next-turn message while the current answer is still running. • Use safe handoff and bounded recovery when a long-running conversation needs to continue elsewhere. • 429 responses back off; recovery does not blindly resubmit the original user task. LOCAL-FIRST SECURITY • The extension uses Chrome Native Messaging and a local mode-0600 Unix socket to reach herdr-mcp. • Herdr bearer tokens are not stored in page scripts or browser storage. • Local Control Center state does not require a public Cloudflare connection. • Risky or unsupported actions remain explicitly preview-only or return an exact capability result. SUPPORTED AND EXPERIMENTAL SURFACES • ChatGPT is the primary supported conversation surface. • Claude continuity support remains available where the current adapter supports it. • chat.z.ai and chat.deepseek.com are experimental integrations. Both are disabled by default and must be enabled separately in Herdr Settings. REQUIREMENTS Install Herdr and the herdr-mcp local runtime first, then run `herdr-mcp native-host install`.
